Emily Trapp Jenkins is currently
serving as one of the Collaborative Pianists at Arkansas
State
University, where she
works closely with the vocal department and regularly accompanies the
theater/opera productions. She holds a Masters of Arts degree from the
University of Missouri-Kansas City Conservatory of Music and Dance .
Jenkins has previously served as the
Pre-Collegiate Competitions Chair for the Missouri Music Teachers National
Association and worked as a Keyboard Skills Division Graduate Assistant at UMKC,
where she taught in both group and private lesson settings. Notable accolades
include first prize in the Missouri Music Teachers Association's Collegiate
(Graduate) Honors Auditions held at the University of Missouri-Columbia in
November 2014. She was a participant in the Schlern International Music Festival
(Völs am Schlern, Italy, 2013) and was selected as a soloist in Goshen Collegeˇ¦s
Concerto/Aria Competition, performing Beethovenˇ¦s Piano Concerto No. 1 in C
Major in February 2011.
Recent collaborations have included new
commissioned works for oboe/soprano with Dr. Kristin Leitterman performed at
University of Southern Mississippi on October 28, 2018; a Southeastern regional
tour with Arkansas State University's voice faculty, Matthew Carey, or Franz
Schubertˇ¦s Winterreise beginning in February 2019; and a collaborative piano
recital to be performed during the 2019-2020 academic year with her colleagues
at Arkansas State University.
