Sławomir Dobrzański frequently
performs a soloist and chamber musician Europe, South America, China, and
throughout the United States. As a soloist, he performed with such orchestras as
the National Philharmonic in Warsaw, Poland,
the ¡§Leopoldinum¡¨ Chamber Orchestra, ¡§Connecticut Virtuosi¡¨ Chamber Orchestra,
¡§Amadeus¡¨ Orchestra, Lincoln (NE) Symphony Orchestra, and the Frederic Chopin
Academy of Music Symphony Orchestra.
He participated in the "Mozart
Festival" in Poznań,
Poland, "Chopin Festival" in
Antonin, Poland, "Warsaw Autumn¡¨ Contemporary Music
Festival, Festival of Polish Pianists in Słupsk,
Poland, ¡§Chopiniana¡¨ Festival
in Buenos
Aires, Argentina,
¡§Music Gettysburg!¡¨ Festival in Gettysburg, American Liszt Society National
Festival, in Lincoln, NE, Chopin Festival in Miami, FL, Karol Szymanowski
Festival in Beijing, China, and The World Piano Teachers Conference in Novi Sad,
Serbia.
He is a graduate of the Chopin Academy
of Music in Warsaw,
Poland and the University
of Connecticut,
where he received the Doctor of Musical Arts degree of in 2001. In 2013, 2016
and in 2018, the London-based label
Acte Prealable released Dr. Dobrzański¡¦s world-premiere CD recordings of
piano music by Maria Szymanowska (1789-1831) and Anton de Kontski (1817-1899).
Dr. Dobrzański is also very active
nationally and internationally as a pedagogue, lecturer, clinician and
adjudicator. He was a member of music faculties at
Concordia
College in Moorhead,
Minnesota and the
University of Rhode Island.
Currently he serves as Professor of Music at the
School of Music.
Theatre and Dance at
Kansas
State
University, where he
teaches piano performance, chamber music and piano literature. In 2017, Dr.
Dobrzański was honored with the title of ¡§Meritorious for National Culture¡¨ by
the Government of Poland.
