Dr. José Antonio Cubela

Professor
José Antonio Cubela is a
highly respected pianist, educator, and adjudicator.
He has been invited to judge prestigious competitions such as Steinway Young
Artist Competition, Memphis International Piano Festival, and Texas Music
Teachers Association events. He also served as President of the Fort Worth Music
Teachers’ Association, and played a key role in advancing local music education.
He currently teaches piano and music theory at the Arlington Independent School
District’s Center for Visual and Performing Arts. He is also one of the founding
directors of the Fanfare Piano Festival for the Arlington ISD and a faculty
member at Texas Wesleyan University.
Beyond teaching, He performed at the
Conservatório de Música de Águeda and Centro de Artes de Águeda in Portugal,
Museu do Traje in São Brás de Alportel and Casa
Manuel Teixeira Gomes in Portimão. Additionally,
he was one of the performing artists
for the Van Cliburn Foundation’s Musical Awakenings Education Program, its
dedicated to bringing classical music into classrooms and inspiring young
students to develop a passion for music.
He has also collaborated with renowned artists, including Grammy, Emmy, and
Tony-nominated choreographer Lars Lubovitch, performing for the Bruce Wood Dance
Company’s annual gala in Dallas. He has recorded with Alexander Kerr,
Concertmaster of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, and David Cooper, Principal Horn
of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, demonstrating his exceptional musical talent.
Whether in teaching, adjudication, or on stage, José Antonio Cubela remains dedicated to his mission of sharing music with the world. Through both performance and education, he not only cultivates outstanding students but also shares the beauty of music with audiences worldwide.
